CLUB HISTORY

Great Wakering Cricket Club was founded in the 1930's and played until the start of the Second World War shortly after which they disbanded. The club was reformed again at the start of the 1950's, playing friendly matches and charity games.

The club joined the T-Rippon league in 1987 and soon started making the climb up the leagues. The club moved to our current ground at the back of Great Wakering Primary school in 1995.

We currently have one side in the T-Rippon league in Division 8 having finished as runners up the last 2 years in Division 9 & 10 and winning Division 11 three seasons ago.

We are in close relations with the Primary School to get children involved in cricket, and our aim as a club is have Youth structure within a year from now.

Photos for the website
Please send any cricket club photos you have to the usual email address. We're in need of photos from previous games, any previous awards ceremonies or even from nights in the Exy!

Everyone has a camera on their phone, let's make sure we take plenty of snaps this year for possible inclusion on the site.
